Season closing 2024

Foremost, I want to say thank you to every single one of you for your effort, your martial spirit, your (ongoing or newly found) interest in Aikido and the training in our dojo.

It was again a pleasure for me to guide you and transmit this art, that I am still so much impressed of and dedicated to. In total, you were able to spend more than 132 hours on the mats in the last two semesters. Now the summer semester has come to an end.

The video footage of this year’s last training was shot by András. Thank you!

And we are ending it with an anniversary! This dojo has now been in existence for ten years (there is still a party in my mind, not yet scheduled, but seriously in the plan). It’s just a number, but it makes me very happy to have taught and learnt so much during this time and to walk a part of the Aiki-path together. The number of active members has also never been higher. That also honours me and the dojo very much.

Congratulations to András, Vera and Valerio for passing their kyu-exams with brilliance.

Summertime
There is no regular training during the summer (holiday) period. However, I will do my best to offer occasional training sessions in the Türkenschanzpark. There should be at least one session in July and more coming in August. I will announce this on our website, on Facebook aso. and keep you posted.

A brief outlook
I am pleased to report that we will be able to train again in autumn at the usual location and – as it seems – also at the same usual times. The first training session is expected to take place on or in the week of 9 September. Details will follow as soon as I know for sure.
There is also a realistic possibility that our mat and court situation will improve in the autumn. I am in very promising negotiations with the school management in this regard.

In the meantime, I wish you all a great summer.
